Wellbeing

At our school, student wellbeing and learning go hand in hand. We want every student to feel safe, included and ready to learn. Whether your child needs help with their mental, emotional, social or physical wellbeing, we are here to help them thrive at school and in daily life.

How we support student wellbeing

Supporting each student’s mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing is part of everyday school life.

School values

Terara Public School is committed to enhancing students' social, emotional, behaviour, and academic outcomes. The school fosters a positive environment by promoting its school values of Safety, Respect, Responsibility, and Achievement. These values are explicitly taught to students, guiding them on how to use these values across all school settings.

Learner qualities

Terara Public School has identified four key learner qualities: persistence, curiosity, collaboration, and resilience. These qualities were developed in collaboration with students, staff, and families to ensure a comprehensive approach to learning. They are embedded across all areas of the curriculum, guiding students in their educational journey and helping them develop essential life skills.

House teams

At Terara Public School, we have three house teams: Calamia (Yellow), Archer (Red), and Arwon (Blue). Each child is placed into one of these teams when they begin school. Throughout the year, students earn points for their house by participating in special events and demonstrating positive behaviour. At the end of each term, the team with the highest total points is rewarded with a special celebration.
